From country and rock to patriotic tributes, movie favorites and swing-era classics, the unique variety show is entertaining audiences of all ages.
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (Smokies.LIVE Adventure Center) — In a town known for world-class entertainment, the Array Theater has carved out a niche by offering audiences exactly what its name suggests — an array of music, comedy and performances designed to appeal to every generation.
Located at the Mountain of Entertainment Theater across from the Titanic Museum Attraction, Array has been entertaining visitors since opening in 2023. Unlike traditional music shows that focus on a single genre, the production blends country, rock, oldies, patriotic music, movie soundtracks and even classics from the 1920s and 1930s into one fast-paced performance.
Producer, owner and host Hugh Warren said the goal has always been to create a show where every member of the family can find something they enjoy.
“That’s why it’s called Array,” Warren said. “It’s just a little bit of everything. We do country music, we do rock, we do patriotism, we do oldies, songs from movies. We’ve started the swing section this year, music from the 1920s and ’30s. So, a little bit of everything for everybody.”
The concept has resonated with audiences looking for a shared experience rather than a show geared toward one age group or musical taste.
Warren said many of the performances are designed to transport guests to another era, whether they’re reliving favorite songs from decades past or discovering timeless music for the first time.
“What we do up there makes you want to be back there again,” he said. “Even if you weren’t there, it makes you want to go to that point in time.”
The theater offers both afternoon and evening performances throughout the week, giving visitors flexibility to fit a show into their Smoky Mountain vacation.
For Warren, however, the most rewarding part of the experience comes after the final curtain falls.
“I constantly get people who say, ‘I never knew this show was going to be this good. I’m blown away. I’m so surprised,'” Warren said. “That’s kind of our goal. We want people to leave saying they had no idea the show was this good.”
In a destination filled with entertainment options, Warren believes Array’s greatest strength is its ability to bring families together for an evening where grandparents, parents and children can all find a favorite moment.
Whether it’s the twang of a country classic, the energy of rock ‘n’ roll, the nostalgia of a beloved movie soundtrack or the timeless rhythms of the swing era, Array aims to prove that the best variety show is one where everyone leaves humming a different tune.
