KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Allegiant is pledging $20,000 to Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital in Knoxville in memory of the East Tennessee icon, while also recognizing hospital employees who carry on her spirit of caring for others.
The airline announced the donation as a tribute to Parton, whose legacy of helping children and families has had a lasting impact on the East Tennessee community she loved.
The $20,000 gift will support Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital and its mission of caring for children and their families.
“Dolly brought undeniable joy to so many—and her legacy of caring for others lives on in the East Tennessee community she loved,” Allegiant said in announcing the contribution.
The airline also plans to recognize hospital employees through the hospital’s employee recognition program. Each month, Allegiant will provide flight vouchers to employees honored for their work as exceptional caregivers.
The program is intended to give the caregivers an opportunity to experience some of the same joy they provide to others through their work.
“Dolly’s legacy is about more than the joy she gave us,” Allegiant said. “It’s about the joy we give each other.”
Allegiant said it is honored to support the hospital and celebrate those who continue Parton’s spirit of compassion through their work.
