History & Haunts Sevierville

October 22 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

As the harvest season settles in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, historic downtown Sevierville once again comes alive with costumed characters, ghost stories, and community fun during its signature fall event, History & Haunts, on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 6-8 pm.

Set against the iconic backdrop of the Sevier County Courthouse, this event invites families to experience one of Sevierville’s favorite fall traditions. Enjoy a variety of free family activities, including wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, children’s face painting, trick-or-treating, and costume contests for the whole family, including tail-wagging family members. Plus, History & Haunts is the only night of the year to go on haunted historical walking tours downtown, complete with storytelling from costumed characters who share dark tales from Sevierville’s past. The evening concludes with a fireworks display over downtown Sevierville presented by SkyLand Ranch.

“This event has become a fall tradition in downtown Sevierville,” says Sevierville Chamber of Commerce director of marketing and communications Amanda Marr. “Everyone dresses up – from the kids and adults to the family dog. It’s truly a feel-good event in the heart of our city.”
