Miguel Videla, pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Sevierville and an Argentine immigrant since 2000, will be the keynote speaker at the 2026 Sevier County Martin Luther King Celebration. He moved to the United States to seek opportunities, serve God, support his family, and contribute to a welcoming community.
“Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream becomes a reality every time someone welcomes a stranger with love. It is not perfect yet. Challenges and divisions remain but they advance each time we open our hearts to others” said Videla. “Recognizing in them the image of God in a world marked by migration and differences. Let us remember that we are all, in a sense, pilgrims on this earth. May King’s dream, rooted in eternal principles, inspires us to build communities of inclusion, justice, and hope.”
