(GATLINBURG, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – Westgate Resorts announced more than $90,000 in donations to Sevier County charities as part of their effort to give back to the communities they serve.
Westgate has allowed employees to volunteer for 6,000 hours at local charities and given $850,000 in grants to local communities. That continued on Tuesday evening in Sevier County.
The resort, through the Westgate Foundation, gathered six Sevier County organizations to announce monetary donations.
Donations recipients were:
$10,000 Helen Ross McNabb Center for their work providing mental health, substance use, social and victim services.
$15,000 Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains for their work for more than 25 years, thousands of children have benefited from the guidance they receive at the Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains.
$15,000 Sevier County Food Ministries for their efforts to meet the food insecurity needs in Sevier County with more than 1200 families using the ministry a week to put food on the table.
$15,000 Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic for their work to meet the medical needs for the uninsured people who live or work in Sevier County.
$15,000 Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center who provides the coordination of necessary services in a child-focused and child-friendly home-like setting for our most vulnerable victimized citizens . . . our children.
$25,000 to Safe Space provides a space shelter for domestic violence victims while working to end domestic violence by supporting and empowering victims and educating our community.
Safe Space was chosen as one of two charities across the nation for the grant through the Westgate Foundation.
