TDOT said to use I640 or Interstate 40 through Knoxville after a semi crashed into one of their signs creating a major problem.
Mark NAGI said “I-275 is closed in both directions between Baxter & Heiskell avenues in downtown Knoxville. A CMV struck an overhead sign. This closure will be in place until the road can be cleared. Use I-40 or I-640 to avoid this area. Expect delays and use caution through downtown Knoxville.”
There is not a timeline of how long the delays could take. Investigators say there were some minor injuries in the crash.
This crash is near Baxter Avenue on Interstate 275. The road is completely closed in both directions.
