The iconic upside-down attraction features more than 100 interactive exhibits, thrill rides and science-based adventures for all ages.
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — It’s one of the first attractions visitors notice along the Parkway in Pigeon Forge. With its upside-down exterior, WonderWorks has become one of the area’s most recognizable landmarks, inviting guests to step inside for a day filled with interactive learning and family fun.
Known as the “upside-down house,” WonderWorks offers four floors of hands-on exhibits designed to entertain guests of all ages.
“We usually tell people from 4 to 94 you’re going to have fun at WonderWorks,” said Malcolm Hale, guest relations manager. “With more than 42,000 square feet of interactive science exhibits, there’s something for everyone.”
Visitors can test their courage on what WonderWorks says is one of the world’s tallest indoor ropes courses, climb a 24-foot indoor rock wall, experience roller coaster and space flight simulators, or even pedal the attraction’s 360 Bikes, which send riders completely upside down.
For those interested in science and weather, guests can explore exhibits focused on space, the solar system, hurricanes and other natural phenomena through interactive displays.
The attraction also features laser tag, a 4D motion theater and a bubble laboratory where younger children can create giant bubbles — and even step inside one.
Hale recommends purchasing tickets online before arriving, especially during the busy summer travel season.
“If the lobby is busy, you can buy tickets online and bypass the ticket line,” Hale said. “That can save guests a significant amount of time.”
WonderWorks is also a popular destination when East Tennessee weather doesn’t cooperate. Whether escaping the summer heat or seeking an indoor activity on a rainy day, the fully air-conditioned attraction provides hours of entertainment.
Hale recommends allowing three and a half to four hours to fully experience everything the attraction has to offer.
