Dollywood announced on Facebook Tuesday morning that NightFlight Expedition will be closed through August 30, 2026. This announcement comes after an amended operating schedule for the new attraction.
The park said in the post; “The ride manufacturer asked for additional time to adjust the timing of the ride’s turntable to ensure a quality experience for this unique part of the attraction.”

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (Smokies.LIVE Adventure Center) — Visitors hoping to experience Dollywood’s newest thrill ride now have a better idea of when they can take flight.
Dollywood announced on its Facebook page an updated operating schedule for NightFlight Expedition, the park’s new coaster, covering Aug. 24 through Sept. 6.
During that period, NightFlight Expedition will operate:
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 2-8 p.m.- Tuesdays and Thursdays: Dollywood is closed.
Saturdays and Sundays: 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
The schedule gives guests specific windows to plan a ride on NightFlight Expedition, particularly during the late-summer operating period.
Dollywood previously announced NightFlight Expedition as a major new addition to the park. The attraction represents an investment of more than $60 million and is the 11th coaster at Dollywood.
The ride opened to the public Aug. 19 following preview events earlier in August.
Guests planning a visit between Aug. 24 and Sept. 6 should check Dollywood’s latest operating information before heading to the park, as schedules can change.
