Free family-friendly event will bring fans together Sept. 25 for a night of memories, stories and the classic film “9 to 5”
BRYSON CITY, N.C. (Smokies.LIVE Events Center) — Fans of Dolly Parton will have a chance to celebrate the life, music and legacy of one of Tennessee and Appalachia’s most beloved icons during a special event at the Swain Arts Center.

The “9 to 5: A Dolly Parton Celebration” will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Swain Arts Center, 1415 Fontana Road in Bryson City.
The evening will feature a screening of the classic 1980 film “9 to 5,” starring Parton alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.
But organizers say the night is about more than a movie.
The event is being created as an opportunity for the community to gather, share memories and celebrate the impact Dolly Parton has had on people’s lives. Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite Dolly Parton memorabilia and share personal stories about how the legendary entertainer has touched their lives.

Organizers also hope the celebration will help establish Sept. 25 as an official day to remember and celebrate Dolly Parton.
The event is described as an organic community gathering, giving fans an opportunity to contribute their own memories and experiences to the evening.
And the best part: admission is free.

The celebration is family friendly and open to everyone who wants to come together to honor Dolly Parton and the lasting mark she has made through her music, films, generosity and connection to the Appalachian community.
