Changes begin Sept. 21 as part of ongoing airport improvement projects
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Travelers at McGhee Tyson Airport will see changes to the terminal’s gate numbers beginning Monday as the airport prepares to add a new gate.
The changes are part of the airport’s Flight Plan initiative and ongoing improvement projects designed to enhance the passenger experience.
To make room for the additional gate, several existing gates will be renumbered over the next several weeks. Airport officials say travelers will be updated as the changes take place to help passengers navigate the terminal.
The gate renumbering schedule is:
- Gates 11-13: Week of Sept. 21
- Gates 9-11: Week of Sept. 28
- Gates 7-9: Week of Oct. 5
Passengers traveling through the airport during the transition are encouraged to pay attention to gate information on flight displays and boarding passes.
The gate changes are part of a broader effort to accommodate continued growth and improvements at McGhee Tyson Airport.
