Haywood County bridge replacement project is 65% complete, with work expected to finish in summer 2027.
HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. — Drivers traveling along Coleman Mountain Road should use caution and watch for construction crews as work continues on a bridge project over Jonathan Creek.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation project involves Bridge 46 on N.C. Highway 1364, also known as Coleman Mountain Road, in Haywood County.
The project was awarded Aug. 12, 2025, and work began in fall 2025. Construction is now 65% complete, with an estimated completion date of summer 2027.
Motorists are encouraged to slow down, remain alert for workers and construction equipment, and follow all posted signs and traffic-control instructions while traveling through the work zone.
Drivers should allow extra time for their trips and remain aware of changing conditions as crews continue work on the bridge.
The project is part of ongoing infrastructure improvements in western North Carolina.
