SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (Smokies.LIVE Travel Center) — A gravel parking lot on Court Avenue in downtown Sevierville will temporarily close Friday evening, Nov. 6, as crews make improvements designed to increase available parking spaces.
The closure begins at 5 p.m. Friday. Anyone with a vehicle parked in the lot is asked to remove it before that time. Vehicles left behind may need to be relocated or removed so crews can complete the work.
The project includes new striping and other enhancements intended to improve the parking lot’s layout and maximize the number of available spaces.
The lot is expected to reopen to the public Sunday afternoon, weather permitting.
During the closure, alternative public parking will be available at the Rex Henry Ogle Courts Building, located at the corner of West Main Street and Court Avenue, and in the Gazebo parking lot on Bruce Street.
Sevier County says the improvements are intended to provide additional parking opportunities for county employees and customers, as well as visitors and patrons of downtown Sevierville.
Additional updates will be provided if weather conditions affect the reopening schedule.
