Family-friendly Halloween event set for Oct. 27 on the Cocke County Courthouse lawn
NEWPORT, Tenn. (Smokies.LIVE Events Center) — The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office is inviting families to celebrate Halloween with a safe, fun and community-focused evening at the third annual Boo Bash.
The event is scheduled for 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, on the Cocke County Courthouse lawn.
Boo Bash will feature activities for children and families, including a costume contest, photo booth, music, inflatables and plenty of trick-or-treating.
The inflatables will be provided by the Newport Tourism Information Center and Historic Downtown Newport.
Food trucks will also be available during the event. Organizers said all food truck spots have been filled and no additional food trucks can be accepted.
The event is designed as a community trick-or-treating celebration, with participating booths distributing candy, treats and other kid-friendly giveaways.
Organizers are reminding participants that no vendors other than registered food trucks are permitted. Booths should feature kid-friendly decorations, costumes and treats.
The event also is not a political gathering. Campaigning and campaign materials, including signs and cards, are not permitted at booths.
Community organizations and others interested in participating can register through the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office app by selecting “More” and then “Boo Bash Registration.”
Questions or registration assistance are also available by calling the Sheriff’s Office at 423-623-6004 or emailing April DeVotie at adevotie@cockecountytn.gov.
With trick-or-treating, costumes, music, inflatables and community organizations all coming together, the Sheriff’s Office is encouraging families to make plans to attend this year’s Boo Bash.
