(GATLINBURG, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – Many roads in Great Smoky Mountains National Park remained closed on Sunday ahead of high winds and ice.
The National Park Service had originally closed roads on Friday evening for 60+ mph winds expected.
On Sunday, the park put out a message that “most park roads remain closed today due to icy conditions and high winds. Our crews are hard at work clearing downed trees and assessing road safety as conditions allow.”
