Traffic delays as Pigeon Forge works to improve intersection

(PIGEON FORGE, TENN.) SMOKIES.LIVE – Watch for lane closures and traffic delays for the next two months in Pigeon Forge at Dollywood Lane.

The city has started work on adding traffic turn lanes to Dollywood Lane at Parkway (Traffic light 8).

Here’s a statement from Pige Forge.

The widening of Dollywood Lane at Light #8 has started with expectations to be completed by the end of April. The improvements will allow for an additional turn lane allowing two lanes of traffic to turn south toward Gatlinburg while allowing another lane to turn north. This should dramatically reduce traffic that backs up on Veterans Blvd. for vehicles trying to get on the Parkway at Light #8. Expect lane closures and back up at times during this construction process.
