(WASHINGTON, D.C.) SMOKIES.LIVE – A Seymour High School graduate was honored with an opportunity to be a part of a ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown.
Reed Bull, 19, of Seymour was honored to be a part of the ceremony changing of the wreath at The Tomb of the Unknown. Representing the American Legion Department of Tennessee Legislative Liaison.
“This was an honor I’ve dreamed of since I was seven years old. My Uncle Bob, who served, gave me a painting of a Sentinel of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier walking his line at the Tomb when I was young, and from that moment the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier felt sacred to me—a lasting symbol of duty, sacrifice, and respect,” said Bull. “Being there today is hard to put into words. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity, and I truly see it as a blessing from the Lord that I will never forget.”
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is Arlington National Cemetery’s most iconic memorial.

“Moments like this remind me that freedom is never free, and the sacrifices of our service members and their families must always be honored,” Bull added.
Each year, millions of people from around the world visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Some visit to honor military service and sacrifice; some to mourn a loved one; and some because of the Tomb’s historical and national significance.
