What’s in your water? KUB releases the 2025 Water Quality Report for the 520,000 who use the service.
(KNOXVILLE, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – The quality of water in Knoxville and surrounding areas has been released for the public to read.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – KUB is committed to providing safe, high-quality drinking water to the community. As part of Drinking Water Week, KUB is pleased to share its 2025 Water Quality Report.
The Water Quality Report details KUB’s water quality record, stringent monitoring and testing, and ongoing investments in its water system. The report also informs the community and instills confidence in the quality of KUB’s drinking water.
KUB encourages its customers to learn more about KUB water in its newest report, which can be viewed online at www.kub.org/2025kubwaterquality or requested by phone at 865-524-2911.
The report includes the following highlights:
- KUB’s state certified water quality laboratory performs more than 100,000 tests each year, significantly exceeding state and federal standards.
- KUB monitors for more than 150 contaminants to ensure drinking water and waterways are safe.
- As KUB celebrates 100 years of its Mark B. Whitaker (MBW) Water Treatment Plant, the organization continues to modernize the water system through its Water Supply Master Plan.
KUB water supports everyday needs, from drinking and cooking to washing dishes and brushing teeth. This Drinking Water Week serves as a reminder that water touches every part of our lives, and KUB is proud to provide safe, reliable water to its customers.
