(KNOXVILLE, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE — Knoxville will celebrate Independence Day with its annual Festival on the 4th on Saturday at World’s Fair Park, offering free family-friendly entertainment, live music and a fireworks display.
The festival runs from 5 to 10 p.m. and will be held rain or shine. Organizers say attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, including axe throwing, mini-golf games and paddle boats. Food vendors will be located on both the Festival Lawn and Performance Lawn throughout the evening.
Live music begins at 5 p.m. on the Festival Lawn, where Dirty Grass Soul will perform until 7:55 p.m.
The evening also features the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s 42nd annual free Lawson Family Foundation Independence Day Concert at 8 p.m. on the Performance Lawn. No tickets are required for the performance.
The celebration concludes with a fireworks display launched from the Henley Bridge at approximately 9:45 p.m.
Motorists should plan ahead, as several road closures will be in effect for the event. Henley Street and the Henley Bridge will close at 4 p.m. and remain closed until midnight.
