SMOKIES.LIVE STORM CENTER — 🚨 URGENT HEAT ALERT: A Heat Advisory remains in effect through 8 p.m. EDT Monday for portions of East Tennessee.
Dangerous heat and humidity will continue, with heat index values approaching or exceeding 105 degrees common during the afternoon.
This is heat you need to take seriously.
🌡️ STAY SAFE
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Stay in an air-conditioned room whenever possible.
- Stay out of the afternoon sun.
- Check on children, older adults and neighbors who may be vulnerable to the heat.
- If you’re working outside, take frequent breaks in a shaded or air-conditioned location.
If someone becomes overcome by heat, move them to a cool, shaded location immediately.
