Annual event honors fallen veterans and welcomes Gold Star families to East Tennessee
LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (Smokies.LIVE Events Center) — Planning is underway for the 20th Annual Mountain Man Memorial March, with organizers preparing to welcome Gold Star families and participants to East Tennessee in April 2027.
The annual event is scheduled for April 9-10, 2027, and will honor the lives and legacies of fallen veterans while bringing participants together to support and remember their families.
Registration for the 20th annual march is scheduled to open Sept. 11, 2026.
Organizers are also preparing for the event through the second annual Mountain Man Memorial March Golf Scramble, scheduled for Oct. 16, 2026, at Avalon Golf and Country Club in Lenoir City.
Proceeds from the golf scramble will help cover travel expenses for Gold Star families attending the April 2027 event.
Organizers are encouraging businesses and individuals who cannot participate in the golf scramble to consider becoming a hole sponsor. Sponsorships provide another way for the community to support Gold Star families while showcasing businesses and organizations at the tournament.
The Mountain Man Memorial March has become an annual gathering focused on remembering fallen service members and supporting the families they left behind.
Those planning to attend the 20th annual event are encouraged to make travel arrangements ahead of the April dates.
