The family is now asking for community support as they grieve the loss of their child.
In a GoFundMe campaign, the family described the boy as “silly” and kindhearted, saying he had a way of making sure no one felt left out. They said he loved spending time with his family and especially adored his two sisters.
The family said the fundraiser will help with medical and other necessary expenses as they navigate the loss.
“We know that not everyone is able to contribute financially, and there is absolutely no expectation to do so,” the family wrote. “If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser, keeping us in your thoughts and prayers, and simply helping us keep his memory alive means more than we could ever express.”
