No. 15/14 Volunteers look to end road losing streak against Razorbacks after last year’s 34-31 win in Knoxville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Smokies.LIVE GameDay Center) — No. 15/14 Tennessee hits the road Saturday for its first Southeastern Conference road game of the season, taking on Arkansas at 4:15 p.m. Eastern at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

The Volunteers (4-1, 1-1 SEC) hold a 14-7 advantage in the all-time series but have struggled in recent meetings, losing five of the last seven matchups against the Razorbacks (2-3, 0-2 SEC).

Tennessee snapped a four-game losing streak against Arkansas last season with a 34-31 victory in Knoxville. The Vols will now look to end a separate streak of four consecutive road losses in the series and earn their first win in Fayetteville since 2001.

Arkansas is led by first-year head coach Ryan Silverfield, who joined the Razorbacks after six seasons at Memphis. Silverfield compiled a 50-25 record with the Tigers, including back-to-back 10-win seasons in 2023 and 2024 and six consecutive bowl appearances.

The Razorbacks’ offense features wide receiver Chris Marshall, who ranks second in the SEC in receptions with 35, receiving yards with 549 and receiving yards per game at 109.8.

Quarterback KJ Jackson has thrown for 1,038 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions this season. He also contributes to the running game, recording 85 yards and two touchdowns on 39 carries. Running back Braylen Russell leads Arkansas in rushing with 136 yards and a touchdown on 40 attempts.

Defensively, junior defensive back Khmori House leads the Razorbacks with 33 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. Former Tennessee and Cincinnati transfer Christian Harrison has recorded 29 tackles and Arkansas’ only interception this season.

Saturday’s matchup will air on the SEC Network, with radio coverage available on the Vol Network, including FM 107.7 in Knoxville. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. Eastern.
