Family-friendly production brings the beloved Disney and Pixar story to life at the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts.
FRANKLIN, N.C. (Smokies.LIVE Events Center) — Families can dive into an underwater adventure when Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo: The Musical takes the stage Nov. 6 at the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts in Franklin.
The performance begins at 7 p.m. at the theater, located at 1028 Georgia Road.
Presented by the Overlook Theatre Company, the approximately one-hour production reimagines the story of the beloved 2003 Pixar film for the stage, offering entertainment for children and adults alike.
The musical follows Marlin, an anxious and protective clownfish who sets out across the ocean after his son, Nemo, is captured and taken to Sydney. Along the way, Marlin encounters a cast of memorable characters, including Dory, the optimistic but forgetful fish, and Crush, the laid-back sea turtle.
As the father and son navigate challenges on their separate journeys, they learn about courage, independence and the importance of letting go.
The production features music from award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, known for their work on Frozen and Coco.
Organizers describe the show as a lively, family-friendly musical adventure designed to bring audiences into the colorful world beneath the waves.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 on the day of the show, plus applicable taxes and fees. Tickets went on sale May 5.
The performance offers families in Western North Carolina and the surrounding Smoky Mountain region an opportunity to enjoy a live theatrical production inspired by one of Pixar’s best-known stories.
