(PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – The Hatfield & McCoy Experience has reopened in Pigeon Forge near the Old Mill Historic District after abruptly closing shortly after opening.
The Hatfield and McCoy Experience, is now located at 107 Old Mill Ave., and offers guests an interactive walk through experience to learn about the famous feud between the Hatfields and the McCoys.
“It’s a privilege to share our family’s history in a way that’s real, honest, and meaningful,” said Hatfield. “This isn’t a show or a dramatization—it’s the true story, told by those who lived it and those who carry it forward.”
Hatfield believes this new locations will be a much better location for guests to find.

The Hatfield & McCoy Experience is now open in Pigeon Forge with artifacts and true stories from the two families feuding for decades from 1863 to 1891.
According to Jack Hatfield, great-great-great grandson of Devil Anse Hatfield, it wasn’t over a pig, but the rivalry is rooted into the conflicts of the civil war and unions vs confederates.
“It’s a privilege to share our family’s history in a way that’s real, honest, and meaningful,” said Hatfield, the great-great-great-grandson of William Anderson “Devil Anse” Hatfield. “This isn’t a show or a dramatization—it’s the true story, told by those who lived it and those who carry it forward.”
The experience includes 500 artifacts that Hatfield said was passed down through family members or even dug up on the family property.
The tour starts with what divided the two families and carries you through with a self-guided audio tour, offering a deeper and more personal understanding of Appalachian history.
The Hatfield & McCoy Experience is located at 332 Wears Valley Road in Pigeon Forge.

Friday–Saturday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
