Sink hole has closed Market Street in Knoxville

JUST IN: A sinkhole has forced the closure of the 500 block of Market Street downtown, between Clinch and Union avenues.

If you are parking downtown Knoxville to go to Market Square, you won’t have any trouble getting to the Market Square Parking Garage. If you park at the State Street Garage and cross Gay Street to get to Market Square, you will see the closure on Market Street when you get to Clinch.

The City and Knoxville Utilities Board are working to repair the problem, but the work and the street closure are expected to extend through next week.
