(SEVIERVILLE, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – Gardeners need to take note to the colder air that’s moving in after rain and storms on Friday evening.
Cold air settles back in for the morning hours of both Saturday and Sunday. The winds should keep frost from forming on the Tennessee side on Saturday morning. That may not be the case for areas like Smokemont, Cherokee and Maggie Valley on the North Carolina side of the mountains.
Sunday morning will be similar, but both sides are minus the wind to limit frost. I would plan ahead for Sunday morning to move plants inside or cover them up.
While most areas won’t have frost, the line is close enough we should watch it closely. Be safe rather than sorry.
