(PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – One person has been charged after a deadly shooting in Pigeon Forge in the parking lot of Dolly Parton’s Stampede.
Pigeon Forge Police said one person died after being taken to the hospital. On Monday, they announced charges for the man they said was responsible for the shooting.

Following an investigation into Saturday evening’s shooting, Evan Cogdill, 24, of Marissa, Illinois, has been charged with criminally negligent homicide in connection with the death of Jacob Inselmann, 22, of Steeleville, Illinois.

This evening at approximately 7:35 pm officers responded to a 911 call reporting a gunshot in the parking lot of The Stampede. Upon arrival, Officers located two males inside a vehicle. One individual reported that he had a handgun in his possession when it discharged, striking the other male. The victim was transported to LeConte Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
This incident remains under an active investigation. No additional information will be released at this time.
