The North Carolina Department of Transportation says to expect the U.S. 276 roundabout to be completed by August 17.
(MAGGIE VALLEY, N.C.) SMOKIES.LIVE – Transportation officials in North Carolina said work to improve safety along U.S. 276 is moving forward with the completion of the roundabout at U.S. 19.
The roundabout is currently in a one-lane traffic patter as crews continue surface construction. Once complete the roundabout will utilize a two-lane traffic pattern at Dellwood Road.
The first phase of this safety improvement project is $38.5 million is set to open before the first day of school.
According to the news release, construction is ahead of schedule.
