Only a slight chance of showers, with warm and muggy conditions making it a good weekend to cool off on the water.

After a stretch of unsettled weather, the forecast is looking much quieter for the weekend in The Great Smoky Mountain Region.

The good news is we’re in the 80s for the afternoon. That will help with this high humidity that we have. That helps make it a little more comfy.

Some of you will see rain, other won’t. You can see the latest future radar to the left.

Humidity builds even more on Sunday. Afternoon highs will reach 85 degrees, with a feels-like temperature near 89 degrees. Only a few isolated showers or thunderstorms are expected, so many locations will remain dry for much of the day.

With lower rain chances than we’ve seen recently, this is shaping up to be an excellent weekend to enjoy the outdoors. If you’re looking for a way to beat the heat, I recommend spending the day tubing or whitewater rafting in the mountain rivers, where the cool water offers a refreshing escape from the summer humidity.

Weekend Forecast

  • Saturday: High 81°, feels like 83°. Warm and humid with just a slight chance of a brief shower.
  • Sunday: High 85°, feels like 89°. More humid with only isolated afternoon showers or thunderstorms.

Enjoy the weekend, stay hydrated, and if thunder roars, head indoors. Otherwise, it’s a great opportunity to take advantage of one of the Smokies’ most popular summer activities.
