From the iconic SkyBridge to mountain trails and fall adventures, visitors can see Gatlinburg from a whole new perspective.
GATLINBURG, Tenn. — The moment visitors arrive in Gatlinburg, one landmark catches their eye high above the city — the iconic bridge stretching across the mountain at Gatlinburg SkyPark.
For guests looking for a unique way to experience the Great Smoky Mountains, SkyPark offers breathtaking views, outdoor adventures and memories that reach far beyond the ordinary.
“The SkyBridge itself went in back in 2019, and it’s been a great hit,” said John McKay with Gatlinburg SkyPark. “Being 500 feet above downtown Gatlinburg, the bridge itself is 680 feet long, and there’s 30 feet of glass in the middle. It’s a really unique way to experience the Smokies right from the heart of downtown Gatlinburg.”
The famous SkyBridge is only part of the experience. With the addition of Clayton’s Landing, visitors now have more ways to explore the mountain and enjoy their time at the park.
The expansion includes approximately a mile and a half of hiking trails, offering guests another way to experience the views and make their way around the mountain without immediately crossing back over the bridge.
“We have multiple ways to experience the park,” McKay said. “Of course, Smoky Mountain Smash, Smoky Mountain Sips and the new restaurant barns give people a chance to relax, grab a bite to eat and enjoy the views.”
While the SkyBridge remains a must-see attraction, McKay says every season brings a different experience.
Summer offers longer daylight hours and spectacular sunsets, while fall transforms the mountain into a colorful landscape filled with panoramic views.
“Fall is one of my favorite times to be here as the leaves change,” McKay said. “Being right in the heart of the Smokies, we’ve got one of the most incredible views you could find anywhere in these mountains.”
Visitors can also look ahead to special fall experiences, including the Smoky Mountain Sunrise event, where guests can enjoy breakfast while watching the sun rise over the mountains.
Whether you’re walking across the famous glass section of the SkyBridge, exploring mountain trails, enjoying a meal or simply taking in the scenery, Gatlinburg SkyPark offers a memorable way to experience the Smokies from above.
