Popular Nashville-based restaurant will open its first Knoxville location on Cumberland Avenue just in time for the return of college students.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Smokies.LIVE Adventure Center) — The wait is nearly over for hot chicken fans in East Tennessee.
Hattie B’s Hot Chicken has announced it will officially open its first Knoxville restaurant on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 2001 Cumberland Ave. near the University of Tennessee campus.
The opening fulfills plans first announced in December 2025, when the Nashville-based restaurant revealed it would expand into Knoxville in 2026.
According to the company, the new restaurant will feature seating for 64 guests inside, along with a covered outdoor patio accommodating an additional 33 people.
Customers can expect Hattie B’s signature menu, including Nashville hot chicken tenders, wings, sandwiches, Southern sides, Nashville comeback sauce and the restaurant’s Southern salad.
The Knoxville location marks another expansion for the popular Tennessee brand, bringing its famous hot chicken to one of the state’s busiest dining districts as students and football fans return for the fall season.
Hattie B’s will officially welcome its first customers beginning Aug. 12.
