PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (Smokies.LIVE Adventure Center) — Thrill-seekers will have a new way to celebrate Halloween this fall as Rocky Top Mountain Coaster transforms into what organizers are calling the world’s longest haunted coaster experience.
Zombie Invasion debuts on select nights in September and October, turning the mountain coaster into an immersive military evacuation adventure. Guests will navigate themed environments, encounter live actors portraying soldiers and zombies, and experience fog, lighting effects and emergency broadcasts before boarding the coaster for a nighttime ride through the mountains.
The separately ticketed event begins with the queue opening at 6:30 p.m., while the first rides depart at 7:30 p.m. Daytime coaster operations will end around 6 p.m. on event days.
Tickets are $24.99 for adults and $15.99 for children. Tennessee residents can take advantage of discounted admission on Sept. 15, 22 and 29, with adult tickets priced at $18.99 and children’s tickets at $9.99 when purchased at the ticket window with valid Tennessee identification.
Zombie Invasion runs on select nights from Sept. 11 through Oct. 31. Organizers note the experience includes live actors, loud sounds, fog, flashing lights and sudden scares, and may not be suitable for all guests.
Tickets and event details are available at Rocky Top Mountain Coaster’s Zombie Invasion page.
