GATLINBURG, Tenn. (Smokies.LIVE Storm Center) — If you’re making plans for the rest of the week, the Smokies.LIVE Storm Center is watching a transition from sunshine and comfortable temperatures to a more unsettled pattern by Friday.
🌤️ WEDNESDAY — NICE AND SUNNY
Gatlinburg starts the day with some areas of fog before 8 a.m., followed by mostly sunny skies.
🌡️ High: 88°
🌙 Low Wednesday night: 69°
Waynesville will be a little cooler, with a high around 85° and a mostly clear night dropping to around 64°.
⛈️ THURSDAY — STORMS BEGIN TO POP
Thursday starts relatively quiet, but we’ll see a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.
Gatlinburg could reach 88°, while Waynesville tops out near 85°.
A few showers or storms could linger Thursday evening, but widespread severe weather isn’t expected at this point.

Friday is the day we’re watching most closely.
Gatlinburg has a 70% chance of rain, with showers and possibly a thunderstorm becoming more likely after 2 p.m.

Waynesville has an even higher 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures topping out around 82°.
