New 50,000-square-foot dining and entertainment destination builds on success of Smoky Mountain flagship

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Smokies.LIVE Adventure Center) — A popular Pigeon Forge dining and entertainment destination is expanding beyond the Smoky Mountains.

Guy Fieri and FACE Amusement Group will officially celebrate the opening of Downtown Flavortown Myrtle Beach with a public ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at Myrtle Beach Mall.

The ceremony will feature Emmy Award-winning chef and television personality Guy Fieri, FACE Amusement Group executives, community leaders and special guests. The public is invited to attend the outdoor celebration.

The Myrtle Beach location opened to guests earlier this summer and expands the Downtown Flavortown brand that first made its mark in the Smoky Mountains with its flagship location in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

The new Myrtle Beach attraction covers 50,000 square feet, bringing together dining, gaming and entertainment under one roof.

The destination features a full-service Guy Fieri restaurant with seating for approximately 460 guests, more than 100 arcade games, 14 bowling lanes, the signature Freaky Tiki Bar, craft cocktails and private event rooms that can accommodate groups of more than 80 people.

The expansion brings the Flavortown experience from the Great Smoky Mountains to one of the Southeast’s best-known coastal tourism destinations.

Following the Sept. 10 ribbon-cutting ceremony, access to the Myrtle Beach venue will be limited to local first responders, contest winners and other invited guests. The facility will reopen for normal business on Sept. 11.

For visitors familiar with the original Downtown Flavortown in Pigeon Forge, the Myrtle Beach location represents the next step in the brand’s growth — taking the combination of food, games and entertainment that has become a Smoky Mountain attraction to a new destination.
