GATLINBURG, Tenn. (Smokies.LIVE Storm Center) — After a stretch of unsettled weather, sunshine and warmer temperatures return across the Smokies next week.

For Gatlinburg and the Tennessee mountains, Monday will be mostly sunny with a high near 88 degrees. Temperatures climb into the lower 90s Tuesday through Thursday, with highs around 91 Tuesday and 90 Wednesday and Thursday.

Across the mountains in Bryson City, temperatures will remain noticeably cooler.

  • Thursday: Sunny, 81°
  • Overnight lows: upper 50s to around 60°

The biggest heat will be felt in the Tennessee valleys, while higher elevations and areas along the North Carolina side of the Smokies will remain more comfortable.

For those heading outdoors, early mornings will offer the coolest temperatures, with heat building during the afternoon.

The good news: no major rain is expected in this forecast period. It’s shaping up to be a bright, dry stretch across the Smokies.
