McGhee Tyson Airport Security Checkpoint Alert for Monday
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Smokies.LIVE Travel Center) — Travelers flying out of McGhee Tyson Airport on Monday, Sept. 14, should plan for longer security lines.
One of the airport’s four security checkpoint lanes will be closed for repairs, reducing the number of available lanes.
Airport officials are encouraging passengers to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled departure time to allow extra time to get through security.
Travel Tips:
- Arrive at least 3 hours early.
- Expect longer-than-normal security lines.
- Allow extra time for parking, check-in and baggage drop-off.
- Check with your airline for any additional travel updates.
If you’re heading to the airport Monday, give yourself plenty of extra time and don’t cut it close.
