New harvest-themed show brings costumes, Monster Mash and seasonal fun to Pigeon Forge beginning Sept. 11
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (Smokies.LIVE Adventure Center) — The Hatfields and McCoys are taking their family feud into the fall with a new harvest-themed show beginning Sept. 11 at the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud.
The seasonal production runs through Nov. 5, adding autumn costumes, pumpkins, spooky scenery and new comedic antics to the popular Pigeon Forge dinner show.
The fall festivities begin before the main show with a talking scarecrow and his scarecrow band. The seasonal set features new fall outfits, jack-o’-lanterns and oversized spiderwebs designed to give guests an early taste of the autumn season.
Once the show begins, the Hatfields and McCoys find themselves competing to determine which family will win the costume party at the Sevier County Fall Festival.
The families also join forces for a Monster Mash musical medley, performed beneath a harvest moon with fog and oversized tree branches creating a spooky atmosphere.
The two-hour show combines comedy, stunts and competition with traditional Appalachian entertainment. Guests can watch the feuding families compete on the mountainside and around the show’s 24-foot-deep swimming hole.
The fall production also features dueling banjos, clogging and appearances by Lil Hickory the pig as the families battle for seasonal bragging rights.
While the entertainment changes with the season, the dinner remains an all-you-can-eat Southern-style meal.
The meal begins with creamy soup and hot bread, followed by fried chicken, open-pit pulled pork barbecue, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and coleslaw.
For dessert, guests can choose from specialty options, including pumpkin pie pudding, available for a limited time during the fall season. Tea and coffee also are served.
The Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud’s fall show runs Sept. 11 through Nov. 5 in Pigeon Forge.
