(MARYVILLE, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – It was a party for the wigs in Maryville as folks showed off their wig to raise cancer awareness.
This is the first year for the community initiative to not only raise awareness but also support individuals undergoing cancer treatment through a special fundraising initiative.
Called, Big Wig Day, it’s designed around creativity, confidence and compassion. As you can see from the pictures, they embraced the bold colors and whimsical wigs as a symbol of inner strength and solidarity with those affected by cancer.
“Big Wig Day™ reminds us that even small acts of fun and generosity can make a big impact,” said
Jen Krueger, life enrichment director at Shannondale of Maryville. “By coming together as a
community, we can spread joy while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.”
The event was open to residents, employees, families, and community partners.
