A traffic alert in Gatlinburg starts on Monday.
GATLINBURG, Tenn. (SMOKIES.LIVE) — Motorists traveling on Proffitt Road in Gatlinburg should expect delays next week as the city conducts paving operations.
The Gatlinburg Street Department is scheduled to pave Proffitt Road between Monday, July 13, and Thursday, July 17, weather permitting.
The project will cover the section of Proffitt Road from the intersection with East Parkway to the roundabout at Hidden Hills Road.
Traffic delays are expected throughout the project, and drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible. Traffic control personnel will be on site to direct vehicles through the work zone.
City officials urge motorists to use caution, watch for changing traffic patterns and lane shifts, obey posted signage, and remain alert for construction crews working along the roadway.
