KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Smokies.LIVE) — Heavy rain Sunday night led to flooding across parts of Knoxville as thunderstorms moved through the area under a Flash Flood Warning issued by the National Weather Service.

Among the locations affected was Next Level Brewing on North Broadway, according to customers, where water entered the building as intense rainfall overwhelmed drainage systems.

The extent of the damage was not immediately known, and no injuries had been reported as of Sunday evening.

JUST IN – Reports of two vehicles stuck in water near Western and Middlebrook, another stuck near University and Western.

The National Weather Service warned that between 1 and 3 inches of rain had already fallen across portions of Knox and Blount counties, with another 1 to 2 inches possible. Forecasters cautioned that flooding could impact roads, small streams, low-lying areas and urban locations throughout the Knoxville area.

Motorists are urged to avoid flooded roadways and remember the safety message: Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
