(PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – Compass Hotel by Margaritaville has been named the best new hotel in the country by readers USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
A panel of experts nominated 20 of the newest hotels in the United States for the top honors and Compass in Pigeon Forge was voted by readers as the best.
Compass Hotel by Margaritaville brings a relaxed, tropical-inspired experience to the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains.
“It is a tremendous honor to be named best new hotel in the country,” said Lee Ownbey, General Manager of Compass Hotel by Margaritaville Pigeon Forge. “I’m thrilled to see this special property and our incredible team recognized on such a large stage.”
The hotel opened in November 2024. Designed to accommodate and entertain guests year-round, Compass features an expansive outdoor pool area complete with slides, splash pads, a plunge pool, and a lazy river, as well as an indoor water park, oversized hot tub, and inviting fire pits for the cooler months.

Guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor terrace bars, live music, and poolside service at the hotel’s 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill.
