(KNOXVILLE, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – With nights in the teens and highs in the 30s ahead for this week, some warming centers have opened.
Vestal United Methodist Church in south Knoxville has decided to open doors to provide warmth, food, fellowship, and hope to those in need.
Tentative Schedule (Monday through Wednesday):
• Warm Welcome Breakfast – 9:00 AM to Noon
• Reopen for Warm Meal, Fellowship, Encouragement & Supplies – 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
At 6:00 PM, the church will provide transportation to a full Warming Center for anyone who wants/needs to go.
The church posted they in DESPERATE need of donations right now:
• Warm blankets
• Coats
• Gloves
• Toboggans/hats
• Sleeping bags
• Hand & feet warmers
•Bottled Water
• Other critical warming supplies
KAT provides free transportation to warming centers.
Local churches and nonprofits are partnering to provide a safe place for our unhoused neighbors during dangerously cold temperatures until Feb 28, 2026.

No word if any warming centers will open in Sevier County.
