(PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – When Dolly Parton made an appearance at Dollywood to open the theme park for the 41st season, she came with news, when her life story would be on Broadway in New York.
Dolly: A True Original Musical will open this fall, 2026, in New York City.
“I’ve been doing a lot of working on our new Broadway musical that’s going to open in the fall in New York,” Dolly said. “I’ve been writing some new songs. We’ve expanded it a little bit.”
Dolly said new songs and rewritten songs to adapt to the Broadway stage were just a part of the changes coming.
This show has been announced on Broadway.com however, tickets are not on sale. The website asks guests to check back for ticket information.

The musical made a debut in Nashville in the summer of 2025 at Belmont University to a sold-out crowd. Dolly was in attendance for the opening weekend performances.
