(GATLINBURG, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – Gatlinburg has announced road closures for Saturday morning for the Parkway.
Below is the full release from Gatlinburg. This is a part of the Mountain Man Memorial March an annual event to Honor our Fallen and support our Gold Star Families.
FROM THE CITY OF GATLINBURG
Temporary lane closures and traffic impacts associated with the 2026 Mountain Man Memorial March, scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026 are possible in and around the downtown Gatlinburg area.
The race will begin at Pi Beta Phi Elementary School and proceed to Traffic Light No. 6, continuing along the Parkway to Traffic Light No. 8. Participants will then turn onto Airport Road and travel its full length to Cherokee Orchard Road. The course continues along Cherokee Orchard Road to Baskins Creek Bypass, where runners will proceed to East Parkway. From there, participants will use one lane of East Parkway to Roaring Fork Road before transitioning to the sidewalk.
Lane closures along portions of this route are expected between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Motorists should anticipate brief delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible.
After 9:00 a.m., runners participating in the half marathon and marathon will continue along East Parkway sidewalks toward Pittman Center before returning to Gatlinburg via the same route. Drivers are urged to remain alert and exercise caution for pedestrian activity along East Parkway throughout the event.
Additionally, the City-operated Permit Parking Lot at Stephen Drive and Bishop Lane will be utilized as a staging area for the event. The lot will be unavailable for permit parking from Thursday, April 9 through Sunday, April 12.
