United Airlines adding twice-daily service from McGhee Tyson Airport to Newark, expanding travel options for East Tennessee
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — More travel options are coming to East Tennessee as United Airlines announces new nonstop service from Knoxville to the New York City area.
Beginning Sept. 24, United Airlines will launch twice-daily nonstop flights from McGhee Tyson Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
Airport officials say the new route will provide travelers with easier access to the New York metropolitan area, along with additional connections to destinations around the world through United’s Newark hub.
The added service gives Knoxville-area travelers more flexibility when planning business trips, vacations and connecting flights.
The new route is part of continued growth at McGhee Tyson Airport as airlines expand service and provide more nonstop destinations for East Tennessee passengers.
