(KNOXVILLE, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – Temperatures are forecast Wednesday and Thursday to drop below freezing and the KAT service in Knoxville is offering a free ride to warming centers.
The service started Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. The service asks that you alert your operator as you board that you are requesting a ride to the warming centers.

Eternal Life Harvest Center on Western Avenue will only open if Eternal Life on MLK is at full capacity. Eternal Life cannot accept pets.
Please note: Vestal United Methodist Church (115 Ogle Ave) is offering support through hot meals, winter coats, and connections to warming centers in the area.
Temperatures will fall into the 20s tonight. Any wet spots on roads from recent rain or melting snow will re-freeze and create black ice. Be prepared for slick spots overnight into Thursday morning, especially on untreated roadways. Use caution if traveling.
