(KNOXVILLE, Tenn.) SMOKIES.LIVE – Runners will converge on Knoxville in less than eight days for the 2026 Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon.
The Knoxville Marathon is scheduled for April 12, 2026 and volunteers are still needed.
“We’ll have 7,000 participants this year which is the most we’ve had in a post pandemic era. But for folks who aren’t participating, we’re going to need people out there volunteering helping at the water stops, even the day before handing out t-shirts and bibs and getting all the equipment ready,” said Jason Altman with the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon.

All events start on the Clinch Avenue Bridge, so you will be able to see your friend start. Both the marathon and half marathon courses will come through one block away (on World’s Fair Park Drive) at mile 12.5.
Race weekend it takes nearly 1200 volunteers to pull this off.
“So, if you’re not going to be racing, you can participate to make sure we have a quality experience for those race participants,” said Altman.
