(KUWOHI, N.C.) SMOKIES.LIVE – The highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains opened for the season this morning.
Kuwohi Road officially opened for the season April 1. This not an April fool.
The road is open along with the hiking trail to the observation tower. It’s a steep one-mile hike to see the views that will take your breath away.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park staff said, “please remember: Kuwohi is a very popular park destination. Visitors should plan ahead and expect limited parking.”
