Annual event at World’s Fair Park will feature vendors, live entertainment and interactive cultural experiences Aug. 30.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (SMOKIES.LIVE) — The 13th Knox Asian Festival will return to Knoxville on Aug. 30, bringing together food, music, cultural traditions and educational experiences from across Asia.
Presented by the Asian Culture Center of Tennessee, the festival will take place at World’s Fair Park and the Knoxville Museum of Art.
Organizers say the event is designed to promote cross-cultural understanding while celebrating the traditions of Asian communities through food, performances and interactive exhibits.
More than 50 food vendors representing 14 Asian countries are expected to participate, offering visitors an opportunity to sample authentic cuisine from across the continent. The festival will also feature more than 120 commercial and craft vendors selling handmade goods, traditional artwork and cultural products.
One of the festival’s signature attractions is its Passport Program, which encourages attendees to visit booths representing 14 Asian countries, interact with community members and collect stamps while learning about each nation’s history and culture. Organizers say the program is especially popular with families and children and is intended to promote cultural awareness through hands-on learning.
Live entertainment will take place throughout the day on three stages, featuring traditional and contemporary performances. Scheduled acts include internationally recognized performers such as Matsuriza Taiko and a Japanese koto ensemble.
The festival will also include a Kids Business Park, where young entrepreneurs can showcase their products and gain experience operating their own businesses.
Festival organizers say the annual event continues to strengthen community connections while supporting cultural preservation, small businesses and educational opportunities throughout East Tennessee.communities.
